The foundational model of what a company brain is — its DNA genome, the brain-vs-database distinction, and the three learning loops that keep it alive and compounding.

## Instructions
A company brain is not a database. A database stores and waits to be searched. A brain answers, feeds every tool you use, and stays alive. The difference is not storage — it is that knowledge starts working without being asked.

## The DNA genome

A brain's identity is load-bearing. Get the DNA wrong and you learn the wrong company faster. A brain is defined by six components:

## The three learning loops

Different knowledge moves at different speeds and requires different machinery. A healthy brain runs on three clocks:

### The connective tissue

Loops in isolation are just three separate logs. The value is the flow between them:

- **Promote (up):** Daily memory surfaces repeated patterns into weekly Craft; Craft flags tensions up to the Compass.
- **Align (down):** The Compass pushes back down to retire processes and memories that no longer fit.

Knowledge graduates up. Alignment flows down. That is the difference between a brain that compounds and a wiki that drifts.

## Why the Craft loop is critical

The Memory loop survives because it is automated. The Compass loop survives because it is a meeting. The Craft loop is the orphan — manual, unglamorous, the first thing a busy team skips — and it is the exact layer that stops the brain rotting. A brain without an active Craft loop will drift within weeks.
